mosquitoes2Although summertime is the time of year that families across the country have been waiting for, what they haven’t missed about the summer months is the inevitable infestation of mosquitos. Fortunately, however, there are all sorts of different things you can do to for mosquito prevention. Although there are all sorts of chemicals you can purchase from the store in order to get rid of unwanted mosquito populations, there are also many natural remedies that you can do to get rid of mosquitos.

Dragonflies
One way to get rid of mosquitos is to encourage the dragonfly community around your home. Although they can look pretty scary, they are very skittish around humans and they will eat all of the unwanted mosquitos. What if, you may find yourselves asking, you don’t have very many (if any) mosquitos living in your area? Fortunately, there are ways to attract dragonflies. One way would include creating a little spot where dragonflies will feel safe. A small body of water should be able to do this. Not only will you see mosquitos disappearing, but you will have a community of beautiful dragonflies buzzing around on your property.

Plants
For many individuals, creating a bigger dragonfly population is just not for them. Fortunately, however, there are quite a few other natural remedies for getting rid of mosquitos. Another solution would be to plant a small herb garden. However, this herb garden must have a few different herbs in order to drive mosquitos away. Citrosa, rosemary, and lemon thyme are some great examples of herbs that can drive away mosquitos. The best way to keep those pests away is to pluck some leaves and rub them on your skin. This will release the oils inside the plant so that they’ll be on your skin. If you’d rather do things the easy way, you could simply just purchase citrosa, rosemary, and/or lemon thyme essential oils.

Green Mosquito Repellents
Yet another way that you can manage those pesky mosquitos is simply to pick up some mosquito repellent. But what if you’re trying to avoid mosquito repellent that uses harsh chemicals that can damage the environment? Fortunately, there are many different types of all natural, green mosquito repellent that you can pick up at your local health food store.

As you can see, there are lots of different methods that you can use to manage pesky mosquitos. By choosing one of these methods, not only will you get rid of some mosquitos, but these methods are also earth-friendly.
